July 20th 2008 - Exciting News:

GUNNER CHAL12NGE MEMORIAL RACE HAS BEEN SET FOR AUGUST 8-9, 2008!!!

NEW TRI-STATE FALL SERIES SET UP AMONG COUNTY LINE X, RIVERSIDE MX, & SOUTHERN RACEWAY!!

BRAD JOHNSON IS ON HIS WAY TO A STRONG AND HOPEFULLY FULL RECOVERY!!!

May 9th 2008 - Brad Johnson Update:

OK! So I told you Brad is a fighter, he is now off the breathing tube and has woke up. He can open his eyes and respond via head shake. It's gonna be a long road but Brad is through the rough sections!

May 6th 2008 - Brad Johnson Update:

The fight is still with my man Brad Johnson. There is talk of taking him off the ventilator today or tomorrow because his oxygen levels are getting better and the bruising and damage to his lungs are getting better. This is amazing after what we were seeing Sunday night. The focus has now been shifted back to the head trauma. This is as medically correct as I can be right now, these things take time, so please continue to keep Brad, family, and freinds in your thoughts and prayers.

May 4th 2008 - Brad Johnson Update:

Sunday, May 4th at about 1:50PM, Brad Johnson suffered a crash that resulted in him being air lifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Brad has been on fire lately and today was no different, he was ripping the track apart and went to scrub a single jump and we believe caught his footpeg and it pitched him forward. Brad is truly one of the strongest and naturally talented riders I know today. Like I said, Brad is a strong seventeen year-old, and the crash left him knocked out but his body was trying to fight and move around. As of late tonite, Brad has been diagnosed with having a small bit of blood on the brain and lung problems from the impact to his chest. The doctors are not really concerned about the head trauma because with his young age and much worse cases they have seen, the lung complications are bigger concern. There are three specialists by his side right now and with their skills and Brad's fight, he should be looking at a very strong recovery.

Brad is in Pediatric ICU at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Brad will fight this one, no doubt.

March 12th 2008 - Race rescheduled for March 29-30 so that everyone can be at home or where ever they desire for Easter Sunday!

March 7th 2008 - Race weekend cancelled and rescheduled for March 22-23 due to TOO MUCH RAIN!

September 4th 2007:

Track changes have been made to our big national-style track. A rythm section, wider track, and new addition to the existing layout are the overall changes. It is the best layout we have ever had and for a fast Intermediate rider (Honda/Fox-backed Gannon Audette), lap times are around the 2:11 mark. Intermediate 85cc riders like Jamey Wright are around the 2:45 mark. It is a near perfect national track, come see for yourself...

July 24th 2007:

There was a mistake in scheduling our next race...the correct date is August 19! Come race and get ready for our strongest series yet taking placing this Fall between two other tracks! Sorry for any confusion.

July 16th 2007:

I have reviewed footage of the Gunner Chal12enge and appears that there was some cheating going on during the pushups...further details to come...

Our next race is set for August 12, 2007. Plans on an upcoming series are at a standstill right now. Countyline X is for sale and tracks close to us are nearly going out of business. I just wanted to thank those that support us week in and week out. The money goes right back into the facility, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out, just look around next time you're out.

July 12th 2007:

Sorry for the delay on getting updates. I have been super busy with some things related to my other life-Florida State University and my leg rehab.

What an amazing weekend! Over $22,000 raised and counting. But for those close to Gunner, there was something bigger. His best friends raced again and families enjoyed the sport, and some very meaningful words were spoken Saturday night. Daniel Graham, Ricky Laing, Chase Revell, Justin Sheridan, and myself shared some great stories and insight Saturday night around our sparklers that reiterates in my head every second and gets me through these rollercoaster days. I am sure others feel the same.

I will do a short recap of the race since some seemed to have been so entertained last time. Here it goes, I taught a class Saturday morning that was supposed to be four hours but only had riders physically and mentally present an hour and a half. This older guy was really tough an tried harder than the young bucks. I got super sun burned. I judged a barbeque cookoff in which everything tasted like sunlight and dust, who cares who won. I then ran home to shower and put the finishing touches on the items up for auction. Chase snagged a pair of pink Utopia goggles from my dresser that went for over $200, so I've dropped out of FSU and have started an eBay online store specializing in Utopia goggles and things Will steals from MTF (it's a joke Colleen, not really, do inventory every day). A huge Red Bull rainbow was inflated, looked cool. Some very strong messages were sent out after dark about Gunner, thanks to all who were in attendance. It got late, there were some mini thugs runnin' around in the form of Brett Smith, Jamey Wright, and who knows who else. Chase and I finally made it back home and went over some plans for Sunday, checked myspace.com, emails, etc., and passed out. Sunday morning came early and the weather leveled out to perfect for Gunner's Chal12nge. Practice went well, Chase lost his mind with late sign ups and class changes but we prevailed. Chandler Turnipseed did a remarkable job scoring and thanks brother! Thanks Shelly as well! Some people raced, I crashed with Brad, some people won, some lost, overall I know Gunner was looking down with the biggest smile ever!

Thanks Wyches and Gaskins for making things happen! Thanks Ronnie and Willa for being the backbone of all things that happen here! Thanks to those who donated and were in attendance, it was remarkable and the Moore family sends their upmost appreciation!

Peace, more to come, click picture for more...

June 24th 2007:

Ok! So thanks everyone who participated in my last class! The atmosphere around the track has been very uplifting! Weekend turnouts have been amazing for practice and we thank everyone for making it look like we are having a race on the practice weekends! Thank you Wayne, Kim, Hannah, and Isrel for bringing you courage and presence to the track as often as you do!

Now, remember the first '10' $50 deposits that someone would match? Well, the account has been set up and we have reached 4 of 10 of those, so keep them coming! Six more and the person will match the $500!

UPDATED June 10th 2007:

So far there are some incredible people with some incredible donations for the Moore Auction so I wanted to start building the list: These things to do have to be MX related...

June 10th 2007:

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are so thankful for all of the love and support over the past couple of days and I just pray that the Moore family can feel the love and healing as well. We love you Gunner and family!

July 7 & 8 is for Gunner...We will race, bid on amazing items, raffle, and share our life-changing experiences we had with Gunner!

more to come...

June 7th 2007:

First thing--to stay organized with everything as this has been very difficult for me I want everyone to send a detailed email to my personal address at "superc6c7@hotmail.com" for any questions or ideas about helping. Leave your name and phone number so I will have a hard copy of contacts once the weekend is over and I can get down to business with helping the Moore family. Right now my call history is flooded with numbers I can't remember who they go to, so either leave a deatiled-detailed message or email me.

Well, the visitation is over and I feel different. I am never one to make things about myself but I think this relates to all of us including the family--there was an incredible amount of people at the viewing today and every single person had love in their body. The kind of love that Gunner had for riding and being around his friends at the track, and the kind of love that makes me believe one hundred percent that Gunner is looking over us and happy with how we are handling this. Of course I cried and I got hugged and I gave hugs, but I felt different this afternoon and it was a better different-like I said, that difference was Gunner Moore shining through his parents, brother, sister, uncle, and all of us, with his glow. I just know it. We love you Gunner, and we are trying.

Another bright happening is the memorial race we are having for Gunner. Please realize for those who do not know that this family was very, very close to my family's heart and my heart, so I may be a bit 'lost' here and there but I am trying to organize these things. I want to help right now this instant, but all I have is a keyboard and a prayer. But, as things stand now, we are going to roll the memorial, auction, and benefit race into our July 8 weekend. We have changed that race to Sunday.

I want to thank Colleen Millsaps from MTF for talking to me tonite-I have had struggles with alot of things here lately and it was nice to talk to someone who has been through and seen alot. She has offered to gather up Stewart, Carmichael, and Villipoto jerseys and I know the sky is the limit with all of the help we've been offered the past couple days. I have a cool idea I am doing with FOX on some gear as well to pay my love and respect for Gunner and family. My best friend/cousin is a licensed auctioneer so it will be the real deal with some really great things up for bid. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Moore family as well as a fraction of the gate fees. Many shops have also offered things, so I will begin working on that so we can have a raffle as well for the family.

I do plan on stepping onto the track for Gunner next Saturday for a class-all money goes to the family. $100 for five hours, heck we'll go to dark if you want to...but let's give back to Gunner and learn some things in the process.

Once again, thanks everyone-we are trying, if anyone wants to jump aboard and get a jersey, donate something, or whatever, let me know! This is for the Moore family...

UPDATED June 6th 2007:

Please continue to send your love and prayers out to the Moore family. I have been overwhelmed with calls and 'what can we do to help' questions...those really wanting to help should stay in touch, this a tough time for their family with arrangements and then life afterwards, and will take a toll financially. An auction and memorial ride is being set up in the next few weeks which I feel will help out tremendously, considering the jerseys and gear that I can get for the auction. Also, I hope to set up a paypal account so we can take donations. Anyone with any suggestions please contact me. I am not making a committment to teaching full time in the future BUT I am going to host two motocross schools before our next race in which I will donate ALL of the money to Gunner's family. I don't care if your MTF's kid, Karl Scot's kid, or Ronnie Tichenor's kid, I want you there and let's show Gunner his 110% passionate love for riding is alive and well.

--------------------------------------------

Hello all-I want to thank everyone for their support today, you truly helped me get through the day and you know who you are. The Moore family and everyone that knew Gunner and family is going through the unimaginable, SO PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY AND KEEP THEM IN YOUR THOUHTS AND PRAYERS!

The visitation will be Thursday, June 7 between 6pm and 8pm at Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge, Georgia. It is just off of Shotwell Street (84) near the square and Dairy Queen. (INFO: P.O. Box 879 502 South Scott Street Bainbridge, GA 39818 (229) 246-3232)

The funeral will be on Friday, June 8 at 2pm near Colquitt, Georgia at Mother's Home Freewill Baptist Church on I believe, 60 Mother's Home Church Rd. (229)758-5183

Please check back as we are going to have a "110%" Memorial for Gunner at the track as soon as we check with the family on when would be appropriate.

WE LOVE YOU GUNNER! YOU ARE IN A MUCH BETTER PLACE NOW AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AND TELL YOU 'ELBOWS UP!'

Once again, call 229.254.1294 for anything.

June 5th 2007:

We love Gunner!

Gunner Moore was the definition of passion, determination, and "Built Lusk Tough." He will be missed more than anyone can imagine but has moved on to a better place and the wheels on God's plan are in strong motion forward. Gunner suffered a crash that we believe left him with no pain or suffering. Gunner, Wayne, and all family and friends, EVERYONE AT THE TRACK LOVES YOU GUYS AND ARE PRAYING FOR YOU! I will give an update on arrangements and an address to send flowers, etc. Please pray for Gunner and family, my parents, and his friends, this came out of no where for everyone, but God and Gunner are certainly prepared for it. Anyone needing anything or wanting to help in some way contact Shane Lusk at 229.254.1294.

WE LOVE YOU GUNNER! R.I.P. #12

June 4th 2007:

Thanks to all those who supported us Saturday! I had a wet but great small group lesson Saturday morning and then surprisingly pulled a race off that night as well. Good luck to Gage Gaskin, Grayson Graham, Austin Hood, Jamey Wright, Josh Guffey, Tad Gaskin, Austin Avery, Tanner Powell, Brad Johnson, Jett Johnson, and Travis Ingram at regionals!

As for the race, it was amazing! Track could not have been any better nor could the racing. The pee wees did the entire track and were battling it out like pros, the "C" class was dominated by the hoodstar Austin Hood followed by the "Answer Squad" of Austin Clark, Robbie Elkins, and Will Laing. Robbie made a solid comeback to Saturday night racing action at Southern Raceway with a win and a runner's up spot in two classes that I cannot remember. Austin Clark swapped plastic colors with Hood one moto but after that Hoodstar stepped it up and rode his own race. Will Laing's new watering gig at MTF gets him off the couch and behind a water hose, which is something every track needs this summer (water), but his new job must not allow him to ride because he faded terribly and had some intense road block battles with Tommy Winn.

Then there was a moto with Schoolboy and 16-29 combined. The contestants were Brad Johnson of Kiro, GA, Rhett Smith of Justin Applewhite's driveway, and Taz Sobotka of French town. These guys swapped out passes all night and I honestly do not know who beat who here is my take on it: Brad was considearbly faster on all sections of the track and his 199cc 2 smoker was not underpowered anywhere. Rhett was going good despite living in Applewhite's driveway for the past 6 months with a bottle or can in his hand. Arm pump was defiantely an issue and if you watch the end of the video you understand what I mean. Taz was smooth and conservative, I don't think his bike gave him much of an option. And yes, they all scrubbed pretty good. In the open class, some guy on a Kawi number 98 beat them all.

Gage Gaskin rode well on his SLMS beaten Yamihaws except for that one race where my man Grayson Graham got all of them off the start and all the way down the sand whoops and all the way down the dragstrip and all the way over the small double and all the way into the big sweeper. He was on a 65cc for crying out loud!

Thanks for the show everyone and enjoy the video and come again July 7!

It has been a great first half to the 2007 1st Annual GA vs FL Series between Southern Raceway MX in Bainbridge, Georgia and County Line X in Fountain, Florida. The tracks have boasted record breaking turnouts for their tracks and for the dry spell this area has suffereed over the past months. Southern Raceway has seen some great racing and even greater love and support from the riders and their families in the surrounding areas and the crew at Southern thanks everyone for that! Results and more photos will be posted immediately following Round 4 at County Line X (although points/results in printed form will be available to view at County Line's race). Here are some photos of the action captured by one of our biggest supporters, Mr. Charles Temples.
